Schyzophrenic Coach Allowed on Court

Charleston, SC- Folks in Possum Kingdom, SC have always known the Herrion boy was special. The small community just north of Anderson was the boy hood home of the College of Charleston men's head basketball coach Tom Herrion. Those who knew him growing up would often comment on his unspoken disability, yet never to those outside of the community. Now it seems that a few of them have chosen to make their information public after repeated outbursts and enraged fits that Herrion has committed on the hardwood over his past four seasons, the latest resulting in a public reprimand issued by the Southern Conference.

Tom Herrion, born Thadius Poe Herrion in 1967, was noticably different from infancy. His mother, Ella, used to think it was just the overpowering scent of ammonia left by the Mr. Clean plant just outside of Honea Path, which is downwind of the community. The Herrion's sued Mr. Clean in 1973 but the civil suit was thrown out of court based on the fact that Mr. Clean is not a real person. "I can't understand what kind of dang government can say that to its citizens!" An elderly, yet still enraged Ella Herrion fumed 22 years later! "How can they say Mr. Clean don't exist when his damn face is right there on the damn bottle!"

Thadius was allowed to lead a normal life. It wasnt until age 12 when others noticed his split personality, named "Ivan The Great Beast" was slowly taking over. In 1977 Tom, or "Ivan" was banned from the Psil Psong Ho Karate School after repeated acts of rage against things such as, any inanimate object. Child psychologist Kimberly Clark affirms "Thad Herrion will not physically harm someone, and restrains Ivan from doing so. What he will do is attack inanimate objects such as bird feeders and manhole covers and just jump around and yell at animals or people! It's a common thing!"

Officials at the College of Charleston were quick to point out that Herrion is a docile, gentle creature off the court as well. Participating in the American Gladiators when he was 20.

The Cougars are proud to have a special man at the helm. Yet beware officials, next time you see the angry side of Herrion, it might be Ivan!
