CofC had won 15 matches in a row headed into today’s CAA final, and had only lost 4 matches all year, but just lost in straight sets to JMU, as the 3rd seed hosted the conference tourney. Likely stuck out of the NCAAs.

Big news for the volleyball team tonight, as CofC was the last team in the NCAAs. They will play Miami in the tournament in Gainesville Thursday afternoon at 4:30. They beat Miami in Gainesville a few years ago. Winner likely faces #2 seed Florida.

First time in CAA history the conference gets two teams in. Also, the first time that both teams don't have to play a seeded team to start.

This team 100% deserves to be in the tournament. They won the conference by a mile and in true CofC fashion, %%&@ the bed in the tournament. VolleyballCoug would know better than I but this team may rank in the top 5 teams we've ever had. Fully expect us to give Miami a run for it. Again.

The 2005 team that beat UNC in the first round ended their season with a 26th ranked RPI. I don't remember the final RPI of the 2012 team that beat Miami in the first round. If this team hits on all cylinders, they can beat Miami again. They already have a win over Baylor this year. Like GoCougsGo said, they can also %%&@ the bed. We have a better chance of winning a first round match than JMU, but they have any easier regional.

Watch the video on Facebook of the team hearing that they are in. Pure joy. Awesome to see. The team absolutely deserved a chance to play in the tournament, and I would love to see them get at least 1 win.

My daughter just verbal to play for the Cougars. We are extremely excited. Deanna Dollar, 5-11 OH Class of 23, from Los Angeles. Originally from NC and lived in Myrtle Beach before moving to LA. I am a NC State grad as you can tell from my screen name. Looking forward to joining the Cougar family.
