SCAD has a really nice equestrian center (if that's what they call it). Just over the bridge in SC on Hwy 17.

Equestrian team now in a first place tie with SCAD with Central Florida just a few points behind.
One meet left for the ladies and a repeat as zone champions.

At the risk of asking YET ANOTHER ignorant question ... aren't guys allowed to ride, too? Indeed, don't women and men compete against each other?

Not ignorant at all.
I have yet to hear of a male rider come to the College. But, I know that our equestrian program is all female in accordance with Title 9 issues.

I do not see how title nine prevents males from being on our team. For every mens team in any sport their is a womens team. The women also have a semblence of a track team and no mens team. Looks to me like we comply with title 9 a lot better than any of the football schools do

PS: We also have a womens volleyball team which the men do not have. Looks like more women playing sports at the college than men

From today's P^C-
C of C women's equestrian team won easily at GaSo Horse Show. Finished 1st w/43 pts, followed by Cent. Fla. w/37 & SCAD w/30.
Have 12 pt. lead over CF in region standings. We're in another show today at the same venue.
Hopefully our rebounding & defense will be strong.
