Football as a requirement in the SC
Is it not only fair that Davidson, Charleston, and UNC Greensboro play football in the Southern Conference or get out and play in a basketball only conference like ETSU was made to do when they dropped football?

I think Charleston and Davidson would be gone so fast it would make your head spin if there was a conference that was a logical alternative to the SoCon.
In our region however there are no mid-level alternatives to the SoCon - its a big step down to the Atlantic Sun and big step up to Conference USA.
Maybe if the Cubs thing doesn't work out for Mark Cuban he can work on putting together a new "Southeast" conference.
I think you are stuck with us buddy and likewise.

Basketball-wise, I would love to see Davidson move up in conference and leave the SoCon. If Davidson and Charleston left, the SoCon would be one of, if not the worst basketball conferences in the Country each year. The SoCon would never want those two schools, or Greensboro, to leave because they don't play football in the SoCon (or at all).
