El Cid loses to Charleston Southern

Post by charlestondxman »

In one of the most embarrassing losses in Citadel history, the Hairy Dawgs have lost to a team with a new head coach, no radio contract, and a school with a 4,000 seat stadium. The Dogs lost 32-29 to Charleston Southern.

Embarrassing for the SoCon and The Citadel...

Basketball season- where Citadel and SoCon will have other opportunities to be embarrased by Big South, etc.

Yeah, but the Dogs could do no wrong according to the LOD. Before this game, there were people predicting 11-1, 10-2, 14-1.

Instead, they put 12K in the stands (2K or more of those cadets) against their local rival and lose to a school who two years ago was 0-11 and lost their homecoming to a school named Wesley College.

And the SoCon didn't have a good start. While the CAA beat UConn handily, and easily could have beaten both West Virginia and Boston College, the SoCon lost 30-6 to Montana, UT-Martin, this CSU team, Gardner-Webb, 70-0 to Georgia Tech, and 69-3 to Baylor.

Post today on the "Lords of Discipline." At what point in time is our Athletic Director and staff responsible for the mediocre output of Citadel Athletics? In my opinion, we're soft as hell- and have been for at least 30 years. We haven't had a winning AD in the history of The Citadel. And Gen Mark Clark was the last President who had high expectations for Citadel Athletics. Who's our next coach and our next AD? I'd clear the entire staff and start over.
