Women's soccer loses to Samford in SoCon finals

The women's soccer team just lost to Samford 1-0 in the SoCon final in Greensboro today. It was a wonderful game, with lots of shots for both sides, but Samford won with an amazing goal from outside the box that flew over Cricket Wise into the net with just 2:30 left.

Samford hogged the ball for the rest of the game, giving the Cougars one or two chances but that was it.

Samford had the majority of the fans, because of the luck of the draw, their volleyball team was in Greensboro for a game yesterday and they stayed around.

The Cougars finish the season 13-8-1, as there will most likely be no at-large bids, but that team will be up there for several more seasons as they only have 5 seniors (all were good ones), and a young team overall.
