Hope he comes for a visit and likes Charleston. Only hope against 6 P-5 offers.

By my count we have room to sign 7 more players for the incoming class even if any of the seniors come back as they would not count towards the 13 limit

One of Kelsey’s signees from Winthrop is coming over. Reyne Smith, another Australian (second one on the team along with Harvey). This guy is from Canberra, the capital. He is a 6-1 PG.

Reyne is from Tasmania, but currently is in Canberra at the Australia Center of Excellence, which is where much of the good young talent out of Australia plays at.
He recently played in an Asia Cup Qualifier for the Australian National Team and he was very impressive, starting and scoring 22 in a win over New Zealand, hitting 6 threes. I watched the game (I believe you can replay it on ESPN+) and he is always looking to shoot...definitely not shy. Was a guy I was excited to see in a Winthrop uniform, but figured he was going to be a casualty of the coaching change.

Thanks for the video. Gives you a good sense of his game. Reminds me of a young Goudelock

Anyone else look promising for us to sign? You seem to always be on top of the recruiting news.

I wonder if Kelsey is trying to focus on holding on the the current recruits and players.
If there are a flood of transfers in then it may push some folks out.
For example is Tucker wavering and considering staying?
Do Dudley and Horton stick with their commitments? We saw a blurb about him reopening, but now Western, Hofstra have gone through coaching changes as well. Only Elon(who is stacked at the position) and Hamptom remian. I bet he sticks.

Awesome news about Horton! He probably is the prize of the class so far.
Lot's of highly rated players available from the SE region who have yet to commit
or are in the transfer portal. Would not be surprised if we get some higher rated
commits or transfers that we would usually not expect.

Ben Burnham (another former Winthrop commit) has decided to change to CofC, following Coach Kelsey. He played for Carmel Christian in the Charlotte area (NCISAA) but is a Fort Mill, SC native.
He is a 6’7 F, and was the #14 player in NC per this.

Looks like he has a good combination of length, athleticism and skill.
Kind of reminds me of Canyon or Antwan Wiggins

By my count can take 4 more if Samba comes back. He may have graduated but by eligibility he is a redshirt jr and would count towards our 13 limit. Smart and Willis would not count if they come back
PS: looking at verbal commits could be 3 instead of 4. They show five freshmen coming in

Correct - we're up to 5 incoming freshmen right now: Smith, Burnham, Horton, Haynes, Dudley.
Burnham is at Carmel Christian - same high school as Epps. According to a Phenom Hoops article, CofC was at one point interested in him but it doesn't look like an official offer ever followed. He's definitely got a motor, which is something we've needed since Brantley left.

Looking at verbal commits and with the addition of Farrar we can take 1 more. Would be 2 if Samba does not come back. That is if verbal commits is correct

If the numbers are correct the kid weighs 30 pounds more than Osi and Samba!

I'm hearing that Samba and Osi will not be back. That would give us 13 right now. I'd be shocked if we don't see a couple more transfers.

The NCAA ruled that everyone who participated in fall sports will
automatically get an extra year of eligibility and seniors will not
count against the scholarship total.
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... igibility/
So Willis will not count and if Smart & Samba don’t return that
leaves us with 2 scholarships to give based on our current commits/transfers.

Makes sense. Osi can move on in life and basketball. Samba with the state of his knees is only a fringe d1 basketball player now.
Biggest hole is in the 4 and 5 spot

Smart would not count either. He was a redshirt senior this past season.
