We have another covid case. CAA 14 day protocol puts us out of tourney also.

The wording in the press release was COVID-19 protocols. So it could have been anything. The last time we were paused it was definitively a positive case.

But Northeastern is in the same boat we are in. And Towson and Hofstra are still paused. So we don’t know what they are going to do. Sucks when it is basically out of anybody’s control. You could be exposed anywhere.

Their 14 days are up before the tourney starts. Ours will not be up until day after tourney is over. CAA protocol is 14 days

Cant the team just isolate from the infected individual?

They are not even allowed to practice for the 14 days as per CAA protocol

Listening to Bobby Hartin and he says he talked to Everett German, who said that CofC can’t do anything for 10 days, but that they’ll get back the day before they are supposed to play their first game in the CAA tourney (March 7). March 6.

Eisberg was also confirming that CofC has a 2nd chance, that it will be an uphill climb, but Charleston Southern had to pause as well today, and they’re done for the year.

So their season doesn’t look to be over at this point. If it had been one or two days from now, it would have.

Guess it depends on when the clock started ticking.
It was obvious the press release was very short and sweet....little details.

That is good if true we can play. Makes one wonder though. Why did all teams have to shut down 14 days including no practice throughout the season?

How about spectator tickets? Anyone heard?

I think it’s very limited spectators. Mostly just families of the players and coaches.

Milton Posner (a Northeastern reporter for their student paper) posted this. He talked to Joe D’Antonio.

Tier 1 personnel (players, coaches, medical/training/equipment staff, and officials) will take a daily antigen test.

If a Tier 1 person tests positive, the CAA will contact trace, then decide who to quarantine. The team then decides whether to continue with remaining personnel.

The CAA does not have its own rule regarding a minimum number of available players. NCAA Rule 3, Section 2 seemingly allows a team to be REDUCED to fewer than five players during a game (foul outs, injuries), but doesn’t allow a team to START with fewer than five.

If a team becomes ineligible 8+ hours before the tourney begins, the remaining teams are reseeded. This is a CAA rule that predates the pandemic.

If a team becomes ineligible within eight hours of the the tourney starting, or at any point afterward, they forfeit their game.

Families and guests only confirmed in CAA announcement today. No public sale of tickets.

Hofstra just got off of quarantine today. Their positive test was last Monday. So it is 10 days now league-wide, not 14.

So we’d likely get off of quarantine next Saturday. A day of practice, probably up in Harrisonburg. We wouldn’t play until 9:30pm that Sunday night, so it would be almost 2 days of prep.

From what I understand, there are 7 guys currently practicing so we will have legs ready. Drexel beat JMU tonight so we will be locked for the 3 seed playing Drexel the 6

Really tough draw for the Cougs, although who knows what will happen with seeding/matchups if 10 teams do not arrive in Harrisonburg.

Drexel is the top-ranked team in the CAA on KenPom and 3rd in NET ranking. Their record is thrown off by only playing two CAA games at home. Given the way this team has overlooked opponents lately, I don't love a matchup against a hungry Drexel team that was swept in Charleston.

It is what it is.
Tough road: Drexel, NU then presumably Host JMU or Hofstra.

Def would have preferred WM, but it is what it is.

Look forward to playing you guys. After how both games ended earlier, I sure hope we come out with some fire. Hoping your layoff makes you guys sluggish. We need any advantage we can get to build early leads.

It’ll look sluggish to you but to us, it’s normal. Drexel wins by 18

No way we win by that much. I do think we win, but if its by more than 4 or 5 I would be surprised. We dont blow teams out. W&M has been the exception, and you guys are nowhere near their level of bad right now.

I stand by my 18 point prediction. We have only played one road CAA series this year and it was the very first one 2 months ago. We haven’t left the city of Charleston since. Combine it with the fact we had to go to overtime to beat a low level D2 school recently and it all sets up for a blow out. Good luck with Northeastern

And that div school school had a losing record.

P&C article just posted said the rest of the team came back from quarantine today. Seven guys were practicing before that. So it was protocol issues. Northeastern had multiple people in their Tier 1 test positive.

Drexel's the favorite... But the odds are higher on us winning then losing by 18.

The drexel frontcourt is terrifying.
Bickerstaff is everything we hope King could be. Seriously how did Earl not recruit that kid out of atlanta.

Butler is precisely the type of frontcourt 0player that absolutely murders us. Noah Dahlmam 2.0.

Obviously there is no way of knowing where their focus is given the layoff since the last D1 game but expect a team that is more intent than the one we saw against Columbus St.

The team isn't bad. They are inconsistent, and tend to lose focus.

This is one of the ,5 worst teams we have had since going div1 in 1991. Too me that is bad
