We have another covid case. CAA 14 day protocol puts us out of tourney also.

The wording in the press release was COVID-19 protocols. So it could have been anything. The last time we were paused it was definitively a positive case.
But Northeastern is in the same boat we are in. And Towson and Hofstra are still paused. So we don’t know what they are going to do. Sucks when it is basically out of anybody’s control. You could be exposed anywhere.

They are not even allowed to practice for the 14 days as per CAA protocol

Listening to Bobby Hartin and he says he talked to Everett German, who said that CofC can’t do anything for 10 days, but that they’ll get back the day before they are supposed to play their first game in the CAA tourney (March 7). March 6.
Eisberg was also confirming that CofC has a 2nd chance, that it will be an uphill climb, but Charleston Southern had to pause as well today, and they’re done for the year.
So their season doesn’t look to be over at this point. If it had been one or two days from now, it would have.

Guess it depends on when the clock started ticking. It was obvious the press release was very short and sweet....little details.

That is good if true we can play. Makes one wonder though. Why did all teams have to shut down 14 days including no practice throughout the season?

I think it’s very limited spectators. Mostly just families of the players and coaches. Milton Posner (a Northeastern reporter for their student paper) posted this. He talked to Joe D’Antonio. Tier 1 personnel (players, coaches, medical/training/equipment staff, and officials) will take a daily antigen test. If a Tier 1 person tests positive, the CAA will contact trace, then decide who to quarantine. The team then decides whether to continue with remaining personnel. The CAA does not have its own rule regarding a minimum number of available players. NCAA Rule 3, Section 2 seemingly allows a team to be REDUCED to fewer than five players during a game (foul outs, injuries), but doesn’t allow a team to START with fewer than five. If a team becomes ineligible 8+ hours before the tourney begins, the remaining teams are reseeded. This is a CAA rule that predates the pandemic. If a team becomes ineligible within eight hours of the the tourney starting, or at any point afterward, they forfeit their game. https://twitter.com/miltonposner/status/...37056?s=21

Families and guests only confirmed in CAA announcement today. No public sale of tickets.
Hofstra just got off of quarantine today. Their positive test was last Monday. So it is 10 days now league-wide, not 14.
So we’d likely get off of quarantine next Saturday. A day of practice, probably up in Harrisonburg. We wouldn’t play until 9:30pm that Sunday night, so it would be almost 2 days of prep.

From what I understand, there are 7 guys currently practicing so we will have legs ready. Drexel beat JMU tonight so we will be locked for the 3 seed playing Drexel the 6
