Need a complete game. They are missing Harper but they still have a lot of good pieces without him. Can we avoid our scoring droughts, dumb technicals and what the hell to,s at key moments. Avoid those issues should be an easy win. If not could be the end of our season.

The one thing about drawing Drexel... even if they are shorthanded
Spiker is a darn good coach and they wont quit. They held true to form.
Wynter reminded of Cam Johnson when he had to step up and carry the cougs a couple years ago. Kid will be really good as they build around him.

First 10 minutes or so were outstanding. Among the best you have seen from a coug team. Energy and tremendous focus on defense.
Second half we kind of coasted for a while. You would have preferred a knockout punch kind of like NU delivered against UNCW, but that is not how this team operates.

Play like we did today, we lose tomorrow. Stats say Riller had 6 TOs. I’d add 2 to that number to include the 2 threes he took with about 27 seconds left on the shot clock. I think Drexel scored after each of those shots...

Plenty of positives, but small things like that will ultimately end our season.

Yep. Drexel couldn’t cut the lead under 7 points in the 2nd half. If they had made a couple shots, it could have been a different game tonight.

4,040 tonight for the session. I’d say at least 3,500 of that were CofC. UNCW had a section or so worth of fans, Drexel had the DAC Pack and not much else, and NU had their typical contingent. New York Mayor Bill deBlasio was watching it with our current Mayor.

Turn overs from Riller & Brantley trying to do too much. Riller was trying to get more assists and he was bringing the ball up in the 2nd half (to draw fouls?) but he was pushing his passes in the paint, trying to feed Brantley, which is a good thing if done with more concentration. Also when penetrating and 2 or 3 guys collapse find the open man.
No one from Drexel will be on the all-tournament team.

Miller deserves to start! Without him we are on the bus last night.

Sam looked great. 12 and 7 with no turnovers off the bench gets is done for sure. I thought Zep and McManus played well too, and Richard even made some jumpers.

We looked a lot more prepared for Drexel's traps on defense, and most of the time we got the ball out and ahead before the pressure really came. Led to those fast breaks with a man advantage. Riller was going too fast on at least two of them. His 6 turnovers (of the team's 12) were the only really stain.

Our energy on defense to start was awesome. Good to see Pointer really lead that charge with his energy early.

To hell with the 1 Riller negative..He had 6 assists ( as many as both point guards together). He had 3 steals and a block. He hit 10 of 16 from the field.

Congrats on the win. Good luck against NU. Tough matchup for sure. Your defense coupled with our sloppiness in the first half was all you needed. We had chances to really make CofC uncomfortable, but each time you were able to respond with dagger 3's. We just could not hit any shots, even when we got good looks. As it sits from what I have seen all season and this tournament thus far, beating Northeastern is going to be tough for any team. They are clearly the best team right now.

What I think was huge for us was Harper being hurt. He seemed to play his best games against us and it was obvious they missed him. Spiker is a good coach and has that team moving up.
