Great win tonight. Led most of the game, and Riller had his homecoming. 33 points and he could have had more.

The UAB folks are mad on their board... https://csnbbs.com/thread-864384-page-3.html

Just logged in to see status of game - I think I'd rather stayed blissfully ignorant. Who the **** isn't guarding whoever Riller is? Is this guy some future 1st player taken in the NBA lottery draft who fell from grace at P5 school? If not, we sure are making him out to be one.

I now see why we got bumped from ESPN main channel to ESPN3 in favor of MTSU & Stanford w/ our former coach
.....from the uab board, they are really down on their team. They were pitiful.

Not an ounce of emotion from Riller who carried his team to victory so I had to chuckle when one of our rooks in garbage time made a basket followed by flexing his muscles  . Gotta love the shameless youthful exuberance and contrasting styles. 8-) Go Cougs.

That game counts just as much as the Oklahoma State and LSU games. Very satisfying to go wire to wire and lead by 20+ much of the second half. UAB didn't get within single digits after halftime.

Riller is out of his slump, our 3pt% improved, the freshmen are getting their swagger back - pretty optimal outcome. Now let's carry that second half momentum into tomorrow against Penny. LSU/UAB/Memphis is a pretty solid stretch for being in the consolation bracket.

We scored slightly better than 2 points a minute the last 32 minutes. 1.8 points a minute for the whole game. That will win most games we play.

That was fun.

UAB may not be that good. They kept the top assistant of a solid, but not great Roy Williams assistant. Jerod Haase. I was there for a few years during the Haase era. Win total was inflated by playing a cupcake schedule. Won the conference tournament playing it on their home court though they lost it in Haase's final year.
The new guy has not maintained the momentum.
UAB's offensive rating was worse than URI's yesterday. They were dreadful. Better teams are gonna make more shots like that.

Riller was a man on a mission and finally had a little oxygen.
As you guys said life is a lot easier when you don't have a P5 team selling out to stop you.

Most interesting question remains who will step up.
Mcmanus is in transition. He has lost a lot of that doughiness from the freshman year but has not developed the inside game.

The freshman are still a bit wild. Mcluney looks like he will contribute.
