You keep presenting our point totals against p5 opponents which is a dumb metric for your dumber argument. You do know that our game plan is to never trade baskets against bigger deeper more athletic p5 schools but to slow it down, burn the clock, limit opponent looks and possesions by turning up the defense, thus resulting in a lower scored match by both teams? hoops 101 buckwheat, sometimes it works. Without looking it up I bet said opponent scores were well under their average. jfc you are dumb. Don't let the facts get in the way of your bonehead thesis/agenda there, fake news guy.

How many mid-majors win NCAA tournament games with that philosophy? You aren't going to beat bigger, more athletic, more talented teams very often by making it a grind it out grudge match. The size and athleticism advantage leans in the P5 team's favor in these match ups. It plays out this way every time we play a P5 opponent.

You just argued against yourself btw. As the game progresses, maybe the shots are falling, their best players in foul trouble, whatever scenario, you can adjust. Go away, you're dumb, your thesis sucks, you're fake news and you bore me. alot of mismatched teams win tourny games by slowing it down and taking the higher seeds out of their game plan. What planet are you on? I'm done with your dumbaz, go outside and play junior.

I would be careful just tracking point totals since so much of that is controlled by tempo.
We run it slow under Grant which will limit the tempo and therefore scoring opportunities.

We rely a lot on dribble penetration and getting to the foul line vs. kicking out on the collapsed D. The tactics really suffered at first since our guards were to small and too depleted. Once Chealey and Riller were back you could see its effectiveness, particularly in the CAA. It helped us win games despite shooting droughts.
Earl's teams have been very high in FT attempted and relatively low mid pack 3 points attempted.

Bobby's cougars were amongst the NCAA leaders in 3 points attempted and rather low in FT attempted. This gave you a punchers chance against anyone, but obviously you were very susceptible to the Woffords of the world, and it was really risky in a midmajor conference tournament situation.

Earl is evolving.
He has shifted in recruiting longer players. Athleticism and length.
Our team is slowly resembling one that can fight P5 teams and compete.
