935 points with at least 3 games left. I think he tops 1000 this year and 2 more years tops Goudelocks scoring record

Riller the thriller

He has a chance to be maybe the best we’ve ever had.

Thought the same thing. Wonder if he’s willing to sit out a transfer year, he has already redshirted his freshman year. I would be more concerned with him being a grad-transfer his last year of eligibility. One mitigating factor could be if he stays on this trajectory, he will be our all time leading scorer, wonder if the idea of giving that up would be enough to keep him here IF he was considering a move up in competition for a senior year and IF he will even graduate before his senior year. I’m just gonna sit back and enjoy the show the kid puts on for as long as he wears the CofC uniform.

Same situation with Harris. He is a redshirt junior (redshirted in 14-15). Everett said on the radio Saturday he would be in the senior night celebration. He’s majoring in supply chain management. That redshirt year probably gave him enough classes to graduate in May.

I'd be surprised if Riller transfers after this year - there's a lot of risk in changing programs plus sitting a year doesn't make a ton of sense considering he already redshirted. He's in a really good spot. That being said, I'd be surprised if there aren't suitors from the ACC and SEC.

For a cautionary tale, just look at Kory Holden. Second highest-rated transfer 2 seasons ago (behind Canyon Barry) after he averaged 17 ppg as a freshman at Delaware. Now transferring for the second time in 3 years.

He would probably have been one of the best 5 players in the CAA last year and this year. Instead, he rotted on the bench for angry Frank Martin. Feel bad for that kid; he was really good. Amazing how often those transfers "up" don't work out.

Riller is special.
His deep shooting has really come along this year.

I'm not gonna worry myself about the transfer. I only see that scenario being at all feasible is if Grant leaves.

I thought the whole season Riller should shoot more and stop deferring to the upper classmen. He finally did that the last 3 weeks and I love the results. Earlier in the season there were numerous times I thought he was open but he would pass the shot up.

Even better is him penetrating almost every possession early in every game until he forces the defense to change. If he can't get to the basket, he can virtually hand the ball to Jarrell or Nick or Cam, or throw it out to Joe. If they collapse in a zone, then we can go to Swampy's preferred play- shooting from LaLa Land!
BTW- is the bow & arrow mime from Hungry Games?

So is nick planning on graduating and using his last year of eligibility as a grad transfer?

He's a father. Maybe he's just ready to start making a living.

Goudelock had 1036 in 69 games through his sophomore year. For reference, Riller has played 64 so far. 994. This’ll be fun to watch anyway...

Riller now at 1011. Needs 25 more to tie Goudelock after 2 seasons.

In the pregame room last night, I asked someone about Harris and was told he is coming back as he wanted to walk out for senior night with the other guys he came in with. Not something I would have thought of.

Revisiting an old thread here but interesting... So if I have this right Riller finished last year at 1072; good for 36 all-time at CofC. Through 28 games this year he has 628 points for a total of 1700 which I think puts him 7th now behind Goudelock, Gustafson, Mack, Chealey, Brantley and Meade.

If we assume conservatively 4-5 games left this year including postseason he could finish 3rd ahead of Chealey.

At that point he’d only need ~700 to pass Goudelock if he sticks around. Very doable.
