We only have 2 signed for next year. McCluney and Moore. After our 3 graduate this year, we will still have 1 scholarship to give.

Even with Miller and the two FR we have one to give for next year.

No, the transfer Miller gave us a full 13 on scholarship this year. We graduate 3 and have 2 coming in next year. We will still have 1 scholarship to give for next year.

All a matter of semantics. When I say next year in basketball am referring to the next season. I understand the next season starts this year

No, what I am saying is that we have 13 scholarship athletes right now, including Miller who just transferred. He was scholarship #13. Until he transferred, we only had 12 on scholarship. Miller cannot play until next December (after finals are over), but he is on scholarship right now. Jasper is being redshirted, but is on scholarship right now. As soon as the season is over, we lose 3 guys who have no more eligibility (Chealey, Johnson, Bailey). We have 2 scholarship athletes coming in (McCluney and Moore). We have one more scholarship to give to a student who will be on campus sometime after May 2018.

So what do stars mean, anyway? Sam Miller transfer from Dayton a 3-star.
All other C of C players are 2-star, including Chealey, Brantley & Riller, except Pointer & Bailey 3-star. Go figure. All our open offers are 2-star except Christian Brown of Lower Richland HS is 5-star. Hope coach has an in there.

I assume Sam Miller was at the game yesterday. Didn't I see where he's enrolled this semester, eligible after fall semester? Wonder what he's thinking about all of this. Hope he's getting into being a Cougar.

Jermel President was the coach of this team but let go middle of season for unspecified reasons.

6’4” junior Shane McCravy Jr.
Oceanside Collegiate (Charleston, SC)
McCravy Jr. is a top 10 junior scorer in South Carolina this season, averaging 20.4 points per game. He is a high flying wing, capable of taking over a game with his long arms and quick twitch ability. His father was a 4-year player at the College of Charleston where he played in 120 games and averaged 5 assists and 2 steals per game, as a senior.

McCravy Jr. is a 4.2 student and should be a multi-offer mid major type recruit (with the possibility for more). One thing is for certain, do not take your eyes off him, his length gets him above the rim, often.

Wish someone would clear Jermel on this
McCravy was his back up then successor at point guard if I remember correctly (probably not) but I think it was his freshman year he missed a free throw that cost us an NIT game at Rhode Island, when he was an exceptional free throw shooter.

Correct. And JP missed a 10ft jumper that would have likely put Arizona away in '97.
But, those will not be how I remember them.

What irks me is that Shane McCray has a son in HS. I'm old.

Ya, at one point Jermel had the school record for consecutive ft I think.
That Arizona game still haunts me, so close to knocking off the eventual national champ in that tourney.
I think Jermel getting canned at Oceanside was the usual puss admin bowing to parental pressure over playing time for their little superstars. I imagine the coaching pressure is tenfold at that school.
Scott eisberg went up there to get to the bottom of it and the principal slammed the door in his face on camera. awww scotty ice, no respect I tell ya, my favorite sportsguy, funny as hell, love that guy. :D

Talked to him at the watch party last night. He is enrolled and enjoying classes this year. He's applied for a waiver so that he can play next fall. Worst case scenario is that he'll be eligible in December.

We've been mentioned a few times on the transfer market:

Jordan Shepherd: Trae Young's seldom-used backup at Oklahoma. From Asheville, originally a JMU commit. Two years of eligibility left.

Blake Francis: Wagner sophomore who averaged 17 ppg last year. He's also visiting Richmond, North Texas and Towson.

Berrick JeanLouis (hs class of '18 wing) was granted release from South Alabama and now getting looks from CofC, Wichita State and FAU

Tye Fagan, (hs class of '18 shooting guard) was granted release from Middle Tennessee after the coaching change. He cited CofC, UGA and Ole Miss as potential landing spots.

Looks like Fagan is following Kermit Davis to Ole Miss. Berritt Jean Louis would be a nice get. He's VERY athletic and can get to the rim. I'm not too keen on taking a 3 for 2 transfer at this point. Just hold the scholly. The 2019 class from South Carolina is loaded.

Looks like a pretty nice prospect. 6'5 athletic wing who can shoot and defend. Apparently he really turned it on his senior year. CEG loves versatile, lengthy guys who can play team D.

No point guard in this class..Does this mean EG is confident Jasper is good enough to replace Pointer in the future.

Jaylen Richard looks crazy athletic, and he can shoot. Was his conference player of the year. Late bloomer who really got better his senior year. Coaching staff is really excited about him.
